Friends,
It's been a busy time for HookTown Holidays as we've been dispersing donations to many local organizations that fulfill our mission to provide nutritious food, warm clothing, and other necessities of life to children, families and other individuals in need in our community. It's because of you that we are able to help our neighbors in times of need. Here are our recent donations:

The WIC program of Warren County works to safeguard the health of women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care. Hooktown Holidays board members, Ethel DelBalso (left) and Betty Jo Pearson (right) present a donation of $1500 to WIC Manager, Shannon Sitler (center).  The funds were given in order to provide for WIC clients who are in need of help in emergency situations.

I presented a check for $1500 to Ed Burris, President of the Warren County United Veterans Council. The donation was given to support the Warren County Veterans Emergency Fund which provides nutrition, heating assistance and other life necessities for local verterans and veteran families in need.

In association with the Tidioute Community Charter School, the Tidioute Angel Program is available to help students in need with necessities throughout the school year including items such as clothing, school supplies, shoes, and more. Hooktown Holidays President, Jeff Mckown and I present a check for $1200 to Tidioute Angels representatives Mrs. Bonner (center left) and Mrs. Robinson (center right).

In September the Rouse Estate held it’s “Business to Business” Food Challenge benefiting the BackPack Program of Warren County. Hooktown Holidays agreed to match up to $5,000 in monetary donations. I’m happy to say that the Rouse Estate fund raiser brought in $5,707. The Hooktown Holidays match brought the final amount to $10,707. This achievement speaks right to the core of  our mission and reflects your kindness in a big way.

Dear friends, you are making a valuable difference in the lives of many of your neighbors and their families who might otherwise feel helpless and hopeless.  None of these donations would have been possible without your ongoing deep caring and generous support.

On behalf of the Hooktown Holidays board members and those we support, I extend to you our deepest gratitude.

Terry

Friends,
You probably recall that, in 2016, Hooktown Holidays founded food pantries at Beaty Middle School, Eisenhower and Youngsville Elementary Middle schools in order to provide nutritious food and wellness items to students in need. Funding was also provided to the Warren Area High School for their pantry and to the Sheffield Middle School to provide nutritional support to “at risk” students and their families during the winter holiday break.

I'm happy to announce that Hooktown Holidays recently presented the School Food Pantries with donations amounting to $4,000 in order to continue this important program.
Hooktown Holidays is committed to closing the nutritional gaps for the children in our community. That's made clear in our mission statement and that is what we do. Of course, none of this would be possible without your generosity and your committment to the same goal.

If you are new to Hooktown Holidays please visit our ABOUT PAGE and check us out on FACEBOOK. We always have something new going on that focuses on achieving our mission to help those in need in our community.

We are very grateful for your friendship and continual support. Thank You.

Terry

Hooktown Holidays President, Jeff Mckown, recently presented a check of $2,500 to the Warren County Children's Advocacy Center. Pictured at the East St. Clair Street and Hickory Street facility are (from left) CAC Board of Directors Vice President Tony Chimenti, CAC Board President Cameron Skelton, Hooktown Holidays President Jeff McKown, and CAC Board Member Rob Greene.

The Children Advocacy Center is a safe and child-sensitive place where child victims of abuse undergo the initial steps on an investigation and begin to heal. The center will be housed in part of the former Ekey Florist building on East St. Clair Street.

Hooktown Holidays board and our supporters feel this is a very worthwhile program that falls right under our mission statement of keeping kids safe, warm, and well fed. We're happy to be able to provide this donation due to you, our wonderful supporters, who give generously every year.

We deeply appreciate you!
Terry
